I have accepted the recommendations of the Priest Personnel Board for the following assignments:
Fr. John C. Ekwoanya appointed Parochial Vicar (Associate Pastor) of the Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi
and the Church of St. Thomas More in Lake Lillian, and to assist with sacramental and pastoral ministry in the
Area Faith Community.
Fr. Jeffrey P. Horejsi appointed Pastor of the Church of St. Andrew in Fairfax, the Church of the Sacred Heart
in Franklin, the Church of St. Willibrord in Gibbon, and the Church of St. Francis de Sales in Winthrop.
Fr. Ronald V. Huberty appointed Pastor of the Church of St. Dionysius in Tyler, the Church of St. Genevieve
in Lake Benton, the Church of Ss. Peter and Paul in Ivanhoe, and the Church of St. John Cantius in Wilno.
Msgr. Eugene L. Lozinski appointed Pastor of the Church of St. Michael in Morgan, and the Oratory of St.
Joseph in Clements, while continuing to serve as Pastor of the Church of St. Mary in Sleepy Eye, and Sacramental
Minister of the Church of St. Paul in Comfrey and the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth.
Fr. Mark S. Mallak to assume sacramental and pastoral duties at the Church of St. Michael in Morgan and the
Oratory of St. Joseph in Clements, while continuing to serve on the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal.
Fr. Brian L. Mandel appointed Parochial Vicar (Senior Associate) of the Church of Our Lady of the Lakes in
Spicer, with Hispanic Ministry in the Willmar Area Faith Community.
Fr. Jack A. Nordick appointed Parochial Administrator of the Church of St. Clotilde in Green Valley, while remaining
Parochial Administrator of the Church of St. Mary in Cottonwood, assisting the Hispanic community at
the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Marshall, and sacramental duties at the Campus Ministry Center at Southwest
State Minnesota in Marshall.
Fr. Brian W. Oestreich appointed Pastor of the Church of St. John in Appleton and the Church of St. Michael
in Madison, and Sacramental Minister of the Church of St. James in Dawson, with some pastoral responsibilities
at the Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton.
Fr. Patrick E. Okonkwo appointed Parochial Vicar (Associate Pastor) of the Church of Holy Family in Silver
Lake, and to assist with sacramental and pastoral ministry in the Area Faith Community.
Fr. Paul A. Schumacher appointed Parochial Vicar (Senior Associate) of the Church of St. Anastasia in Hutchinson
and the Church of St. Boniface in Stewart, while continuing as Coordinator for AIDS Ministry in the
Diocese.
Fr. Anthony J. Stubeda appointed Pastor of the Church of the Holy Family in Silver Lake, while remaining
Pastor of the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe.
Fr. Steven J. Verhelst appointed Pastor of the Church of Our Lady of the Lakes in Spicer, the Church of St.
Patrick in Kandiyohi, and the Church of St. Thomas More in Lake Lillian, while remaining Pastor of the Church
of St. Mary in Willmar, with oversight of Hispanic Ministry in the Area Faith Community.
Msgr. Robert J. Wyffels to serve as Chaplain at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
